Droplet Measurement Technologies (DMT) has been providing instruments to the international scientific and industrial communities since 1987 for the in situ measurement of water droplets, ice crystals , black carbon (soot),dust, volcanic ash and bioaerosols.
DMT has developed an extensive line of optical particle counters for measuring concentrations of cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) and ice nuclei (IN), size distributions of cloud water droplets, ice crystals rain and snowfall. Our cloud sensors are deployed on the ground for fog and precipitation measurements and in the air for research on stratus, mixed phase cumulus and cirrus clouds. Every organization in the world that does cloud research and weather modification studies deploys our instruments.
DMT offers the only instrument in the world, the single particle soot photometer (SP-2) that measures the mass concentration of refractory black carbon in individual particles and complements it with other aerosol instruments for measuring the optical properties of aerosol particles.
The DMT Wideband Integrated Bioaerosol Spectrometer (WIBS-NEO) is the only commercial sensor that provides the spectral signature of fluorescing, bacteria, mold, pollen and other biological particles.
DMT provides measurement of particles from < 50 nm to > 10 mm.
