The RP-30 is a mobile measurement device to measure the surface velocity profile of rivers. With this velocity information and a known cross-section profile. The included software RP-Commander calculates the actual discharge of the river.
The RQ-30 is Sommer's solution for contact-free determination of discharges in rivers and open channels. With its combination of a velocity and level radar together with Sommer's modeling software RQ-Commander measuring and monitoring discharge is as comfortable and easy as it gets. Due to the contact-free design the RQ-30 is not endangered by flotsam during flood events.
The discharge measurement is performed by using the well-established tracer-dilution method. The system can be deployed in turbulent rivers, creeks or waters for which data regarding the cross-section profile are not available or unknown. It is used salt (NaCl) as tracer material. After insertion of a known amount of tracer material two conductivity probes automatically determine the discharge. This way high plausibility and accurate results can be guaranteed.
Features and advantages
Simple, mobile discharge measurement

Mobile discharge measurement system for turbulent rivers with unknow cross-section profile - fluorescence Tracer
The discharge measurement is performed by using the well-established tracer-dilution method and is especially suitable for high volumes of water. The system can be deployed in turbulent rivers, creeks or waters for which data regarding the cross-section profile are not available or unknown. It is used a fluorescent material as tracer. After insertion of a known amount of tracer material two optical fluorescence probes automatically determine the discharge. This way high plausibility and accurate results can be guaranteed.
Features and advantages
Simple, mobile discharge measurement
Reliable results even without knowledge and independent of the cross-section profile
Suitable for fast-flowing, turbulent waters or where access is limited
Applied especially with water amounts of several m³/s
Environmentally friendly, harmless for water
Discharge values immediately available
Easy transmission of measurement data form the sensor to receiving device via Bluetooth
Convenient receiving of data on laptop
Real-time visualisation of measurement data

Precise snow depth measurement by means of ultrasonic technology
The USH-9 is an ultrasonic sensor for the precise, continuous and non-contact recording of snow depths. The robust design, a special ultrasonic head as well as an extremely low energy consumption makes the USH-9 a very suitable system for extreme weather conditions and so for alpine and high alpine terrain.
Features and advantages
Continuous and non-contact measurement
Reliable sensor for extreme environmental conditions and high alpine employment
Robust, sealed and therefore maintenance free ceramic membrane with protective shield against ice and snow
High level of accuracy thanks to the integrated temperature compensation and filtering of snow and rainfall using intelligent spectrum analysis
Energy-saving operation through sleep modus, ideal for solar-powered measuring stations
Precise and relaiable ice detection with contact free technology
Ice Detection Sensor to measure icing and freezing rain for various fields of application. The IDS-20 system is setting the standard for the next generation of ice detection systems. The IDS-20 is the first non-contact ice detection system which is able to measure form 0,01mm up to 80mm of ice thickness. The IDS-20 system is an extremely flexible system to cope with different situations and applications. The system contains of a central controller and three different sensors. The sensors have different measurement ranges and applications. There are two cube sensors for icing measurement and icing detection for two different measurement ranges. Therefore, the IDS-Cube 1 sensor has a measurement range of 0,01mm until 1mm and is for the recognition of extremely fine ice layers and icing events. The design of the IDS-Cube 5 sensor is to recognize ice layers and icing events from 0,1 mm up to 5 mm. Additionally there is a rod sensor which is designed to measure the total ice thickness thru out the season or year. The measuring range of the IDS-Rod sensor is form 1mm up to 80mm. The IDS-system design is made to be used with one sensor or up to max two IDS-sensors at the same time.
