Weather Impact provides agribusinesses with easy to access, reliable weather and climate information. Our mission is to support farmers to optimize global food production and reduce the impact of climate change.
With our state-of-the-art weather models, our clients call on us for long term weather and climate-risk analyses. With this data, they support farmers in making decisions on when to plant or when to harvest. Our services are flexible, tailor-made to the context, and available in various languages across Africa. We condense complex, real-time data into accurate, user-friendly texts, or a mobile app. In 2020, with the help of our clients - digital platforms and other institutions that support farmers - over 190,000 farmers in East Africa receive weather forecasts directly on their mobile phones. User evaluation studies with farmers show that Weather Impact services score very high on quality and reliability.
Weather Impact provides long - and short-term analyses of weather and climatology, which are also often used as input for other services, such as crop yield forecasts, pest and disease forecasts and seasonal anomaly analyses. Our experts combine the output of high-quality weather models, satellites and ground observations to create reliable forecasts and analyses.
Weather Impact's data and information services are all accessible through APIs (application programming interfaces) to partners and third parties. Weather Impact teams up with consultants, multinationals, ICT companies, NGOs, research institutes and universities in both its commercial and research work.
Weather Impact and Satelligence combined their strengths in agri-meteorology and satellite remote sensing and created the Agri-Insight Service Bundle.
